Unintentional deviations

Description of unintentional deviations

Secondary control results in deviations between scheduled and actual exchanges of electricity between neighbouring grids. The APG control area’s inadvertent exchanges occur when it unintentionally withdraws electricity from the ENTSO-E Regional Group Continental Europe (RGCE) grid or injects it into the latter. Under the ENTSO-E rules, excess withdrawals or injections must be redelivered during the following week, during predefined tariff time bands.

Tender procedure

Unintentional deviations are priced according to tariff time bands and compensated for by baseload supplies during the following week. In the APG control area these electricity deliveries are procured and sold on the Austrian power exchange, EXAA Energy Exchange Austria.

APCS is responsible for the clearing and settlement of unintentional deviations.
