EIC request
Energy Identification Codes (EIC) are 16-digit identification numbers that comply with a European standard developed by ENTSO-E and are used in electronic data exchange.
APCS assigns EICs to companies based in Austria for the electricity and gas market segments.
To apply for an EIC, please send us the application form, signed by an authorised representative of your company, to office@apcs.at. The signatures will be verified based on the entries in the commercial register.
Further information on EICs can be found in the ENTSO-E EIC Reference Manual. The ENTSO-E document contains the information you need to apply for an EIC, in particular a description of the EIC types.
APCS assigns codes of object types A, V, W, X, Y and Z. A detailed description of the types can be found in the ENTSO-E EIC Reference Manual.
Only one EIC of type X can be assigned to a company identified by its VAT identification number (UID). All other balance groups are identified by a Y code. There are no restrictions for codes of type A, W, Y, Z.
Please also let us know in which market role (‘function’) your company will operate with the requested EIC. Multiple entries are possible.
Information on the available market roles can be found on the ENTSO-E website (see Role Model Definitions).
